for a presentation titled
Bell Accident Investigation Process and Engineering Case Studies
by
Mark Stuntzner, Air Safety Investigator, Bell
Mark Stuntzner has worked as a failure analysis engineer, accident data analyst, and air safety investigator for more than 25 years. He has represented Bell in accident investigation activities at vendors and official labs, including engine runs, component teardowns, CVR/FDR downloads, and failure analysis laboratories. Mark has investigated over 220 Bell accidents across five continents, including U.S. military, foreign military, law enforcement, and civil customers. His investigations have spanned diverse missions such as offshore oil exploration, HEMS, passenger flights, powerline patrol, agricultural spraying, forest fire support, and more. Notably, Mark has investigated several in-flight break-ups and a mid-air collision.
Mark’s presentation will walk us through what the investigation process looks like with at least two real accident examples.
